(3)        positive interpersonal relationships by teaching them effective problem solving and the ability to assess a social situation, to identify who they can trust and to communicate their feelings and needs to trustworthy people.

(4)        success in school or the workplace by carefully setting up learning opportunities in the community and coaching the youth in appropriate and acceptable social interactions

(5)        respect and trust in their elders, teachers and other authority figures in the community by  providing trained staff who model this skill in their interaction with the youth and by providing observation and encouragement to the youth about their interactions with adults in the community.
