OARTY Webinar – Centralized Residential Placement Service (CRPS)

Friday, June 19, 2020
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

On behalf of the Children’s Aid Society of Ottawa, Stacey Fragiskos B.A., M.S.W., R.S.W. and Shawna Cooper, B.A., M.Ed will be presenting a new provincial program that intersects with the residential services sector, the Centralized Residential Placement Service (CRPS).

The CRPS is a service offered by the Children’s Aid Society of Ottawa (CASO) to support Ontario’s Child Welfare and Indigenous Child and Family Well-Being Agencies in their searches for appropriate Outside Paid Resources (OPRs) outside of their own jurisdictions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Aligned with the provincial movement to repatriate children and youth in care, the goal of the CRPS is to provide a service that focuses on conducting out of jurisdiction placement searches during this challenging time, freeing up agencies’ resources to focus their energy on planning to keep children and youth close to home. This work is accomplished by leveraging existing resources from the OPR Shared Service Proof of Concept project, and by continuing to build resources and centralize service-related information about OPRs in Ontario. In this webinar, Stacey and Shawna will introduce the service, discuss implications of the service for Ontario’s OPRs, and field questions from attendees.
