ohnson Children Services Inc. provides client and client placed within their homes with a culturally competent environment, taking into consideration the provision of inclusive services that are non-discriminatory, in an environment that takes into account ethno-cultural, racial, linguistic and ancestral diversity. Client are also provided opportunities to participate in leisure and recreational activities that promote physical, social, and cultural benefits to meet the needs of the clients in our care.
Staff will work with each client around developing an individualized program for that client, in consultation with their guardian and any other professionals deemed appropriate. This plan will be sensitive to the needs of the client, and will be documented in the POC under the Cultural and Religious section. This plan will be reviewed with the client at each POC. The POC includes the provision of services to client of aboriginal heritage, who will be encouraged to maintain participation in culturally appropriate activities, and contact with their community, in effort to preserve their cultural identity throughout their placement
Foster Homes
The needs of children entrusted to JCS vary greatly. JCS classifies foster homes based on the life experiences and education of foster families in order to find the best possible home for each child.
