Bayfield's Next Step Program has been designed to meet the needs of children and youth up to ages 21 who are making the transition to community living with the continued support of Bayfield's clinical services, psychiatric monitoring and private school. Bayfield's Next Step Programs help children and youth discover their full potential in all aspects of life while they learn to appreciate and respect one another.Next Step operators are skilled in child therapy techniques, such as counseling, democratic parenting techniques and must complete Bayfield's competency training. All Next Step homes require a home study and meet all Ministry standards. Bayfield provides two models of Next Step Homes. A parent modelled with staff support and a parent modelled without staff support.
